The Allure of the Curse Sequel to the award-winning The Cure for the Curse Warrenna's parents hid the family curse for years, blending into society, hiding in plain sight. Discovering she was a vampire at sixteen turned her world upside down. And when her parents were critically injured by a deranged vampire hunter, Warrenna quickly learned the true importance of her parents' role among Zera's Orphans. Now Warrenna must live in a community of fellow cursed orphans. She's got a blood addiction to fight off, the sun to avoid, high school to finish... Oh yeah, and all those evil vampires to hunt. Warrenna really likes Thomas, the cute boy from school, but she must keep focused because he may have the cure for the orphans' curse within him. Besides, Thomas seems to prefer spending time with his human girlfriend. Maybe Warrenna shouldn't have tasted his blood. When betrayal and tragedy emerge inside the orphan community Warrenna is tempted by the power she refuses to embrace. If she surrenders to her urges she could defend her family, take revenge on the betrayer and take Thomas as her own. But giving into the allure of the curse would come at the cost of her soul. The vampire lunged toward Thomas’s neck. Thomas didn’t react until he felt the twin bolts of pain burning his skin. Mariah gasped. But then the vampire recoiled violently, falling onto his back. He rolled over, retching and spitting on the carpet as the stunned Beazer brothers looked on. The vampire looked up at Thomas and wiped his mouth on the sleeve of his coat. His blue eyes had returned, only they no longer held unconcerned boredom. Now they held fear. “What are you?” the vampire whispered. --- Click here to go back to the main page This page is copyright 2008-2011 Patrick Vaughn |
